Barnwell Florists Privacy Policy

Preservation of your data and privacy is hugely important to us and we are committed to letting you know how we use your personal information and to making only responsible use of your data.

The use of “we” and “our” in this document refers to Barnwell Florists.

1. Personal Information

We will collect personal information from you when you or your organisation make a general enquiry via our contact form or place an order with us.

This may include your name, title, email address, physical address, telephone numbers and order related questions due to the nature of our business and providing you with the flowers that you need.  We may also ask for some additional, non-personal but relevant information. This can include your opinions about a service, event or an issue via feedback.

We will also gather general information regarding the use of our website, such as which pages are visited most frequently. Only anonymous information and statistics will be used which do not identify individual visitors. This information helps us improve the services and information we offer on our website and the overall website experience. We may use service providers such as Google Analytics to help us collect and analyse this anonymous information.

2. Use of Information

Your personal information will only be used to process requests received from you, to provide you with our services, and to provide you with information relating to associated services which we think you may be interested in. This information will not be shared with any third party, or sold to them, to directly market to you.

Our email marketing  may be trackable at an individual level, allowing us to determine, for example, opens and link clicks. This information is generally used to help assess the effectiveness of communications systems that we use to reach you so that, for example, we can send you more of what you like and ensure our systems are simple for you to use.

3. Security

We will take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of information you give us.
Information that you submit in an enquiry or as part of your order is encrypted and stored on a secure server. We take appropriate measures to ensure that the information we receive is kept secure, accurate and up to date and kept only for so long as is necessary for the purposes for which it is used. All access to our secure server is restricted only to authorised staff.
Communications in connection or response with these received requests may be sent by e-mail. For ease of use and compatibility, communications will not be sent in an encrypted form. E-mail unless encrypted is not a fully secure means of communication. Whilst we endeavour to keep our systems and communications protected against viruses and other harmful effects we cannot bear responsibility for all communications being virus-free.

4. Cookies

‘Cookies’ are small pieces of information sent by a web server to a web browser, which enable the server to collect information from the browser. Essentially it takes the form of a small text file deposited on your computer’s hard drive. They’re generally used to improve your website user experience.

We use cookies to ensure that you can interact with our web site successfully, for Google Analytics to monitor the performance of our website and to keep track of browsing patterns. The use of cookies does not give us access to the rest of your computer or to personal information about you.

5. Legal Compliance

We may need to disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a court order.
